Tottenham secure a place in the EFL cup finals

Jose Mourinho’s squad secured a place in the EFL cup finals on Tuesday night while at home, by beating Brentford 2-0. An in form Tottenham squad, with the help of VAR sealed off the win against Brentford. Sissoko opened the scoring in the 12th minute, assisted by Sergio Reguilon, as Son scored the winner in the 70th minute assisted by Ndombele. Tottenham now await either of the Manchester clubs in the finals. The Manchester derby semi final is to be played on Wednesday night at Old Trafford. It will definitely be a heavily contested match, as Pep Guardiola and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer battle it out for the remaining spot in the finals. Mourinho can now start his preparation for the EFL finals, to be played on April 25, 2021 at Wembley Stadium. In the meantime, he is looking to rack up as many points as possible to contest for the Premier League title this season.

Mourinho’s reaction after the match; “It’s a game which takes us to a final, probably, I hope not, but probably an empty Wembley final, but a Wembley final. And of course I’m very happy with that.”

Brentford boss Thomas Frank said: “But first and foremost I must say that I’m very proud of my team, I hope the fans are unbelievably proud.”

Sissoko’s reaction after the match; “We are all very happy. We have been waiting for this moment for a long time. Today we played a great game against a good team. It was a good battle but we deserved to win. You don’t only play a final: you have to win it. So let’s be ready.
