North London Derby: Spurs smash arsenal 2:0 in a thrilling North London encounter

Harry Kane and Son Heung-min combined once again to dim Arsenal’s chance of grabbing a first win in four premier league games at the the Tottenham hotspur stadium.

In a match where Arsenal enjoyed much of ball possession of 70% to Tottenham’s 30%, the first half goals made the difference by the final whistle. Son grabbed the first goal via a long strike from outside the box. From then on, Arsenal enjoyed much of the chances but lacked any meaningful threats with spurs defence looking comfortable in defense and dangerous on the counter. With the win, Tottenham returned to the top of the premier league table with Liverpool who won at Anfield later in the day. Impressive also for spurs as they have gone over 300 premier league minutes without conceding a goal. The loss to Arsenal is the sixth in the premier league this season and leaves them 15th on the league table.

Talking to the press after the win, Tottenham coach Jose Mourinho said he was happy not just with the results but also with the team performance. He haile Pierre Hoijberg as a major force that has brought stability to his side and the combined front force of Kane and Son as the best strikers in the league.
