Ruto’s Wheelbarrow party unveils its candidates for upcoming elections

United Democratic alliance (UDA), a party believed to be the Kenya’s deputy preside t vehicle for 2022 elections formally unveiled its candidates for the upcoming Governor, senator, MP and Member of County Assembly by-elections.

The party, whose chairman is Gemstone dealer and billionaire Former Machakos senator Johnstone Muthama unveiled Former Starehe MP Marhgaret Wanjiru as its candidate for the Nairobi Gubernatorial by electio; Former Kenya revenue authority board member Evans KaiKai will be the wheelbarrow party ticket holder for Kabuchai constituency seat while Alex Lanya will be the party candidate for Matungu.

The party move is part of a wider plan by the party to test its popularity before the next general election. The party is yet to settle on a candidate for Machakos senatorial seat due to a large number of interested candidates with a meeting that took place between Muthama the party chair and DP Ruto settling on the use of a scientific method to identify the party candidate according to The Standard

Speaking to the press while unveiling the candidates at the Hustler center in Nairobi, the former Machakos Senator said that the candidates were arrived at after a series of consultative meetings.

The function was attended by politicians mostly from the Tanga Tanga wing of the Jubilee coalition, a faction associated with the DP, including the deputy president’s die hard Kipchumba Murkomen, Mithika Lintuli and several other MPs.
