Embu governor Martin Wambora the new COG chair

Embu Governor Martin Wambora has been elected the new chairman of the Council of Governors (CoG), taking over from Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya.

I’m the elections held on Friday January 29, 2021, the governors also voted Kisii Governor James Ongwae to deputize Gov. Wambora.

The nnew boss takes over from Gov Oparanya who has been at the helm for the last two terms.

The Embu governor received support from President Uhuru Kenyatta and the Jubilee leadership as well as Governors aligned to prime Minister raila Odinga through the handshake.

Governor Wambora is the fifth governor to head CoG.
