Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine, leader of political opposition in Uganda is still on house arrest despite a high court ruling on the morning hours of Monday, January 25th, 2021.
Through a post on Twitter this afternoon, the politician cum musician posted saying that despite the high court terming his detention as unlawful and unconstitutional, the Ugandan military and police have yet to leave his premises. He added, “ Perhaps (as always) waiting for Gen. Museveni’s orders on the next course of action.”
The politician and his family have been on house arrest for 11 days now since they cast their vote on Thursday, January 14th during the country’s general election. Entry to his house by friends and the media has been restricted throughout this time with some people being beaten up for trying to force their way into the politician’s house.
