15 year old boy arraigned in court for robbing a police officer at gunpoint

A 15 year old boy was arraigned in a Nairobi court for robbing a police officer at gunpoint. the boy is accused of robbing the police officer attached to Kiambaa police station on 14th of may.

Yunus Noor, who was was arraigned at a Milimani court is alleged to have committed the offense together with another four teenagers, who had already been arraigned in court.

Particulars of the offense read that ” On May 14 2021, at Makina area in Kilimani sub-county, jointly with others before court while armed with a dangerous weapon namely a Pistol, knives robbed Pius Ekai an officer attached at Kiambaa police station of Mobile phone namely a Techno Spark 5 valued at Ksh.17,000 and immediately used threats to the said officer”

The teenagers pleaded not guilty before chief magistrate Francis Andayi, Noor told the court that he is under18 years and that he was supposed to be in school.

He was referred to the probation officer who was asked to get in touch with his parents to provide his birth certificate to ascertain the details. The magistrate ordered that he be detained until June 14 when the probation report will be produced in court.

Those accused to have committed the crime together with Noor are all under the age of 17.
